Join American Legion Post 597 and the HDCA for a meaningful and festive Independence Day celebration on Saturday, July 4, 2026, beginning at 12:00 PM.
This community event is an opportunity to come together in the spirit of patriotism, honoring our nation’s history and the values of freedom, unity, and service. Guests will enjoy classic American fare including hamburgers and hot dogs, along with music and fellowship in a welcoming, family-friendly environment.
Independence Day celebrations traditionally bring people together to reflect on shared values while strengthening community connections and national pride. In that spirit, this gathering is designed to foster camaraderie, celebrate our heritage, and provide a place for neighbors to connect.
We invite all members of the community to attend, enjoy great food, and experience an afternoon of patriotic celebration.

Honoring a Fallen Hero
On behalf of the residents of Carrollton, Texas, and the HDCA, we honor the life and sacrifice of Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, who gave her life while serving our nation in Jordan.
As President John F. Kennedy once said, “Courage is the grace under pressure.” Pvt. Gonzales embodied that courage through her service, dedication, and commitment to others.
We extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and fellow service members. Her sacrifice will never be forgotten, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of a grateful community and nation.
